Bylaws

If CC&Rs cover the "what" of the HOA, the bylaws cover the "how".  Our bylaws establish the structure of day-to-day governanance of the Bedford Estates Homeowners Association.  This includes things like:

  • Frequency of HOA elections
  • Process for nominating and electing new Directors
  • Number of Directors and Officers that serve at one time
  • Length of terms
  • Meeting frequency and quorum requirements
  • Duties and responsibilities of Directors and Officers

If our existing bylaws come into conflict with state statutes they will be updated and presented to our prperty owners at the next Annual Meeting.  You can find the current state statutes by clicking HERE.

The BEHA membership approved updates to these bylaws with some minor clarifications at the membership meeting at Woodland Heights Baptist Church on 11/13/2018 and they are effective as of 01/01/2019.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the BEHA membership approved updates to these bylaws via an emailed virtual Homeowners Meeting conducted using videos by the President, Vice President and Treasurer and voting that ended December 20 via a google survey.  They are effective as of 01/01/2021.

In 2021, the Texas legislature passed a comprehensive set of statutes governing the operation of HOAs (POAs).  These changes are being incorporated into the current Bylaws and, once sanctioned by the Board of Directors, will be made available for review & voting by property owners on this website in the the third quarter of 2022.  After approval, they will be filed here and filed with Tarrant County.  Many of these in-place statutes override statements in our current bylaws which must be amended before the election of a new Board of Directors.
